CUSTOM PRINT FLATS
Print flats can be made in combination with a new ebook, from one of my-pre-made covers, or from an existing ebook design (where applicable. Please inquire first if you want this option).
ORDERING A CUSTOM PRINT FLAT & EBOOK COMBO
Need both an ebook and a print flat? Print flats can be made in conjunction with ebook orders. If you require both, please fill out the art form request below and go through the same steps as for a new ebook design. If you have already purchased an ebook from me and only want to add on a print flat, please choose the Print Flat Request, only. (If you need a flat from a cover I haven’t made, see Ordering a Custom Print Flat below.
Print flat templates are downloaded and delivered as a flattened PDF. Author is responsible for ensuring all back matter is accurate before finalized.
FIRST
Download the cover art form below. It’s vital that you put as much information into the art form as possible. I don’t have time to read every book prior to making a cover, so this is your chance to tell me what you like and don’t like. What your vision is and if you already have images in mind. I’ve included a cover page to help you navigate the ins and outs of filling out the form, as well as providing other pertinent information. If you haven’t finalized your book for print, yet, don’t worry. Just indicate you want both and you can send that information along after you have it.
SECOND
Send your art form along via the contact form listed below or on the Contact Me link in the nav bar above. Upon receiving your request, I will confirm receipt and provide a timeline for your first draft. (Please allow up to 48 hours, though I will try to contact you within 24 hours.) Time will depend on where in the que your request falls, but every attempt will be made to get a draft to you within 7 working days.
Please note: Drafts will contain lower res images often with watermarks until a final design has been approved.
THIRD
Once a draft has been approved, you will be sent an invoice. Pre-payment is required before images are purchased. Any additional costs of images (such as those used from other stock sites including Period Images, etc) will be included on the invoice.
FOURTH
Once payment has been received, you will be sent a clean proof of the cover. After receiving the proof, minor adjustments can be made until you are satisfied (within reason). Please ensure names, titles, taglines, etc are correct. Once the proof has been approved, I will upload the file (pdf and/or jpg) to Dropbox, and you will be sent a link for download, as print files are too large for most mail programs.

ORDERING A PRINT FLAT FROM A PRE-MADE COVER
Found a pre-made cover you love? You can order a print flat from it. Please fill in the request form as outlined in the above steps and indicate which pre-made you purchased. If you are ordeirng both a pre-made cover and a print flat at the same time, please indicate this on your pre-made order form. You can download the Print Flat Request form below and forward it once I’ve contacted you.
ORDERING A PRINT FLAT FROM AN EXISTING COVER
Do you need a print flat made for a pre-existing cover? Please contact me for further information. I’ll need to see a copy of the cover to discuss creation of the flat.
Note: Files are delivered as flattened jpgs/pdfs where required. Editable files are not sent. Covers cannot be altered and reused on additional projects. Any drafts not used during the design process remain the property of Kris Norris. Specialty images from sites such as iStock or Period Images will incur additional charges. These will be discussed upfront and a new estimated price will be presented.
